Birmingham Door Company (https://www.birminghamdoor.com/) is headquartered in Troy, Michigan with a satellite location in Harbor Springs, Michigan. In business since 1947, Birmingham Door has the experience and expertise that many competitors simply do not. Adding to that, Birmingham Door have the knowhow and craftsmanship to restore and refurbish antique, discontinued or hard-to-find doors and door parts.
Birmingham engaged Formcode to completely redesign and restructure their web presence. Not mincing words here, their previous website was ancient. Web 1.0 old. It was time. With collaboration from Roger and Jill, the owners of Birmingham Door, Formcode created a new, modern website that will help their business grow by being able to be found online better and being responsive for mobile.
The homepage opens up with a clean header navigation that has all the necessary information, along with a clear headline telling the user exactly what they do. Below that is a brief introductory “About Us” section that leads into a breakdown of their service offerings. Next up is a small gallery showcasing some of their work in progress. Down further are testimonials and a contact form so customers can reach Birmingham Door without having to click over to the Contact page. The footer form shows up on all pages except the Contact page for convenience.
Internally, there is a standard About page that walks the user through who they are and what they do along with another truncated gallery area that breaks down the main types of doors and links to the full Portfolio gallery page. The Services page provides further information on the services listed out on the homepage. The Portfolio page is a mosaic gallery that is also sortable by door-type. This is convenient for customers to narrow down the selection to what they are specifically interested in.
