Key Construction (https://www.buildwithkey.com/) is headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan with a satellite office in Toledo, Ohio.. Key Construction has completed numerous commercial and municipal construction projects over the years in Southeast Michigan along with Northeast Ohio.

Key Construction’s previous website wasn’t bad per se, it just did not reflect the state of their business as it stands today. Key engaged Formcode to completely redesign and restructure their web presence. Their old website was largely OK but lacked the robustness their new website provides. The biggest thing Key was missing on their old site was a robust project portfolio section organized by both market sector and project type (private or public). Additionally, Key used the website update as an opportunity to refresh their logo and color scheme, Formcode incorporated the branding seamlessly.

For the homepage hero, it made sense to do a traditional slider where multiple finished project images show the user quickly a cross section of their work. The rest of the homepage presents sections that give the user a preview into who Key is, what they do, and how they do it along with customer testimonials, blog, and a logo strip that mentions the various trade associations they belong to.

As stated previously, the Project Portfolio pages were of the utmost importance for Key Construction. The portfolio pages were organized and sortable by market sector so the prospective customer can see the projects that directly relate to their organization. Formcode also reimagined their Careers page, so Key can attract talent that matches their company’s reputation of professionalism and integrity. Other pages that Formcode added and organized for the redesign are landing pages for each Market Sector and Service offered. Each provides detailed information about that service or sector and including related projects so users can connect the dots easily. There are call-to-action buttons peppered throughout every page from home through all of the internal pages so the user is able to raise their hand whenever they are ready without needing to navigate back and forth via the browser’s retreat or advance buttons.
