Applebaum Family Philanthropy (https://applebaumphilanthropy.org/) is headquartered in Southeast Michigan. AFP is a philanthropic organization that enriches the lives of those in and around Detroit, MI and beyond.
Applebaum Family Philanthropy’s website was in need of an update both visually and structurally. They had two active sites linked to one another but were looking to fold both in together. AFP partnered with Formcode to refocus their website from a content and design standpoint. The goal was to create a cohesive one-stop shop for everything the organization does along with celebrating the man behind the foundation and the legacy he left behind. The AFP team, in conjunction with Formcode, created an entirely new site outline and focus.
Starting with the homepage, Formcode crafted an experience that takes the organization’s philanthropic mission and pairs it with the legacy of the late family patriarch who founded it. Beyond the hero message, it delves directly into the philanthropic focus, into information about their fellow program. Next is a full-width section depicting the family legacy that bridges the past with the future. Finally, there is information and a call to action for the internship program along with a prompt to sign up for their newsletter.
The internal pages focus on the areas highlighted on the homepage. These pages take design cues established on the homepage and extrapolate for the lengthier content. The internal pages are set up to educate the user on the organization, their founders, team, and their various charitable endeavors. Rounding the site out are their Spotlight Stories. These are stories that blend the past, present, and future in a way that engages and informs the reader, inspiring them to carry on Mr. Applebaum’s legacy.
